Frank Clingman Folks , M.D., 75 , prominent as a physician and surgeon and civic leader here for many years, passed away Friday night after a lingering illness .
He is a former member of the Georgia Legislature and a former Mayor Of Waycross .

His father Dr. William B. Folks, was for years active both in professional and socially in South west Georgia. Born in 1830 in Jefferson County and one of the founders of the town of Waycross.

Dr. Frank Folks is the second of Five children born to William and Mary . He was reared in Ware County and was educated in the Common Scgool. In 1874 he started studing medical after his father and went to the Savannah Medical College in 1876. He practiced in Homerville, Jasper, Fla. before moving back to Waycross.

In August of 1877, he married Miss Emma A. Morgan (d/o) Judge Jonathan and Susan Hargrove Morgan .
Five children:
Rosa , Mabel , Frankie ( other two died young).

He has been a physician for the Savannah, Florida & Western Railroad and the Brunswick & Western Railroad.
He was a member of the F. & A.M.
the I.O.O.F.
the Knights of the Pythias
and a member of the Methodist Church.
