He met & married Elizabeth Arends, in Peoria. Upon her death 1881, he married Maggie Wiedman.
He was a scale repairer and for many years was a city sealer.
He is survived by his daughters, Mrs Fred Christenson, with whom he made his home, Mrs Henry Messersmith, Mrs Wm Gedons, Mrs Wm Youngs & Mrs Harry Phillips, all of Chicago.
He had spent 71 years of his life in Peoria, before going to Chicago.
