She was born September 13, 1917 in Wilson Lane, Utah to Ormond Henry and Elizabeth Hogge Butler.
On June 26, 1941, Elsie married Henry Thomas Cottle in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1980.
As an active member of the LDS Church she served in many callings, including an Ogden Temple worker, Relief Society, Young Women's and Sunday School.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting and sewing. Many received gifts of her beautiful handi-work, baby sweaters, booties and afghans. Two of the things she looked forward to were her flowers in the summer and decorating for Christmas.
Elsie is survived by her children, Terry (Julie) Cottle, Ogden; Sharon Lanier, Layton; Judy (Dean) Wade, Fruit Heights; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, three sisters, a grandson, Jason and a granddaughter-in-law, Kara
The family extends a sincere appreciation to INC Hospice, Vicki, Dawn, Eric from Symbii Home Care and Dr. Grace O'Brien.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23rd at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
The family will meet with friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
