Syd was born in Salem on July 18, 1925, to Sydney H. and Nan (Goodman) Francisco.
He enlisted in the US Navy in March of 1943, and became a motor machinist mate aboard LST 272 during World War II. Syd was recalled for the Korean conflict, and served in Japan. After his service in the Navy, he was employed by ODOT for 34 years.
He is survived by his sister, Eleanor Parker; nephew, Barry Neufeldt; niece, Debbie Hanson; three grand nieces and one grand nephew.
Private interment will be held at Belcrest Memorial Park. At Syd's request, no services will be held.
Memorials may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, or Willamette Valley Hospice.
Keizer Funeral Chapel is in care of arrangements.
