James D. Wheeler, 55 2219 Puritan cl NW, died early today in Aultman Hospital in Canton following a four month illness.

Mr. Wheeler was born in Crossville, Tenn. and resided in Massillon since 1955. He was electrical foreman-supervisor for the Norfolk & Western Railway shops at Brewster. He was a member of the Electrical Workers Union and president and general chairman of the supervisors.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dottie Wheeler; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Rebecca) Neel of Richville, Perry Township; a son James K. Wheeler of Massillon; his father, Bryan Wheeler of Harrison, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Spears and Mrs. Edward Beecher, both of Lima and Mrs. Peggy Burt of Columbus; two brothers, Charles Wheeler of Harrison, Tenn. and Sam Wheeler of Noblesville, Ind. and three grandchildren.

The body is at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home here. The funeral arrangements are incomplete.

The funeral of James D. Wheeler, 55, of 2219 Puritan cl NW, who died Thursday at Aultman Hospital in Canton, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home.

The Rev. Peter S. Mathewson, pastor of Stanwood Community Church, will officiate. A private interment service will be held Monday morning in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, Jackson Township.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from noon until the time of the funeral.
