The Bulloch County native was a deacon of Elmer Baptist Church. he was a veteran of World War II and a retired service station owner and operator.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lessie J. Ranew of Statesboro; a son, Archie N. Ranew Jr. of Statesboro; two daughters, Mrs. Mildrid R. Johnson of Statesboro, and Mrs. James Hagin of Madison; a brother, L. B. Ranew of Statesboro; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 5 p.m. today at chapel of Smith-Tillman Mortuary of Statesboro; burial in Eastside Cemetery.
