Mr. Kenneth Sowell, Sr., 70, died Tuesday morning (July 19, 2011) at his residence in Eatonton, GA following an extended illness.

He was a native of Ware County and had lived in Ware County most of his life until moving to Eatonton in 1994.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Sowell and Elsie Sweat Sowell and a brother, William A. Sowell.

He was retired transportation manager for Guerdon Industries and was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Eatonton.

Survivors include his wife, Phillis Davis Sowell of Eatonton; a son, Ken Sowell, Jr. (wife Sheri) of Waycross; a special little dog, chipper; and a sister, Nena Sue Nall of Fernandina Beach, FL.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday (July 21, 2011) at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Wednesday from 6 until 8.
