Funeral services for Leon John Munsch, 66, Waldorf, will be Friday, Nov. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waldorf, with burial in St. Joseph's Community Cemetery. The Rev. R. E. Sheehan will officiate.
Pallbearers named are Marvin Degner, Dale Joecks, Harry Krueger, Everett Huxford, Cecil Stiernagle and Howard Nelson.
He died Tuesday at Waseca Area Memorial Hospital following an illness of 3 months.
On April 10, 1914, he was born in Byron Township, Waseca County, to John and Hannah Munsch. He was graduated from Waldorf High School in 1932 and farmed all of his life in Waseca County. He retired from farming in 1972 and moved to the village of Waldorf.
On Aug. 19, 1937, he married Irene M. Kraske of Alma City in Waldorf.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Mark (Darlene) McDonough of Waldorf and Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Mary Lou) O'Brien of Savage, Minn.; five grandchildren, Shawn, Shane and Shanna McDonough and Todd and Jeffrey O'Brien; one sister, Mrs. Beryl Gehring of Waldorf; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother.
Visitation is today from 3 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow morning until 10 a.m. at Arnoldt Funeral Home, Janesville. Parish prayer services are tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
