Ville Platte – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Monday, March 5, 2007 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte, for Ethel F. Israel, 80, who passed away at 3:45pm Friday, March 2, 2007 at her residence.

The Rev. Randall Moreau, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church will be the Celebrant with the Rite of Committal to follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Ville Platte, La.

Mrs. Israel was involved in many local organizations until she moved to Baton Rouge. She was active in the Catholic Daughters of America and Garden Club and enjoyed golf, camping and traveling.

Survivors include her two sons; Kent Israel and wife, Linda of Baton Rouge and Phil Israel and wife, Virginia of Shreveport; a son-in-law, Warren Myers of Baton Rouge; one brother, Leland Fontenot of Ville Platte; six grandchildren, Chad Israel and wife, Audrey of Baton Rouge, Chelsea Day and husband, Wade of Baton Rouge, Luke Myers of Harahan, Paige Reagan and husband, Rob of Shreveport, Andrea Mahfouz and husband, Mark of New Orleans, and Ben Israel of Houston; and six great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Madison Israel; daughter, Roxanne Myers; grandson, Dane Garrett Myers; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fontenot; five brothers, Elvin Fontenot, Marion Fontenot, Dalbas Fontenot, Liverty Fontenot, and Kelly Fontenot.
