Co-founder of the Heywood Brothers Co. (later to be called the Heywood Wakefield Company) with his brothers, Levi, Walter & William.
Heywood Wakefield Company would become the biggest chair manufacturing company in the city and the world.
In a book called "A completed century, 1826-1926; the story of Heywood-Wakefield Company" published by the Heywood-Wakefield Company in 1926 there's a page with pictures of the Heywood brothers involved with the family business. There is a note on the bottom of the page that says, "No likeness exists of Benjamin F. Heywood. He was an extremely homely man and family tradition has it that he would never consent to have a daguerreotype or photograph made."
