Mrs. Roy Sweeton


Mary Ellen Sweeton, 82, of Humboldt, died Saturday at her home after an Illness of one year.


She was born July 5, 1890 at Calico, Ark., and came to Humboldt from Drury, Mo., 10 years ago. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church at Drury and a member of World War I Auxiliary at Chanute. She was married to Roy Sweeton on Jan. 17, 1918 at Ava, Mo. He preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1971.


Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jack Lamons, Humboldt, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A daughter, Hester, preceded her in death in 1964.


Services will be held at the Price Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Dean Endicott of Chanute officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt.
