Jennings: Funeral services for Epsie H.A. Ridley, age 95, will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 @ 10:00 AM with Reverend Brian Wells officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning on Tuesday, July 19th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and resume on Wednesday at 8 AM until the time of her services. Ms. Ridley will be laid to rest in the Lakeview Cemetery.
Epsie Ridley was born on April 11, 1916 to the late Loudie and Bettie Foreman Ravey and was called to heaven early Monday, July 18, 2011. Ridley enjoyed gardening, water aerobic and shopping. She was devoted to raising and taking care of her children each and every day. She was very devoted to her family who will cherish her memory. Her faith was always strong no matter what obstacle life put in front of her. She was the definition of love, loyalty and strength. She will be greatly missed and remembered by those who loved her. She is survived by her two daughters; Faye Spell (E.J.) and Connie Crader (Ernest) both of Jennings; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren.
Now she rests in heaven with her beloved parents, Loudie and Bettie Foreman Ravey; 1st husband, Rodney Hymel; sister, Oreilla Ravey; sons, Roddy Hymel, Sr. and Jerry Gale (Little Buck) Hymel; 2nd husband, Wilford Abshire; 3rd husband, Carl Ridley.
