Mary Sipple, 92, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2011, at St. Columba Church, with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 20 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with prayers at 4:00 with the Catholic Daughters of America.
Mary was born July 31, 1918, in Ottawa, IL, to Edward and Catherine (Kelleher) Wolfe. She married John Sipple in May of 1952. He died April 12, 1998.
She worked at St. Vincent orphanage as a nurse. She was a member of St. Columba Church, their Altar and Rosary Society Legion of Mary and Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by 2 nephews, Edward (Cathy) Wolfe of Ottawa; Thomas Sipple of Burbank, IL; 4 nieces, Margaret "Peg" Chaney of Ottawa; Maureen Wolfe of Ottawa; Nancy (Ed) Dineen of Tinley Park; Joan (Michael) Oswald of Chicago; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; 2 sisters, Catherine Wolfe and Margaret Vovesny; 4 brothers, Edward, William, Joseph and John Wolfe.
Pallbearers will be Edward Abernathy, Edward Wolfe, Gary Reardon, Patrick Chaney, George Alaimo, and Brennan Chaney.
Memorials may be directed to Marquette Academy or Masses at St. Columba Church.
