He built the first school house in Kinmundy Twp. in 1837. He was the first one to teach there.

Samuel B. WHITESIDE was the son of William WHITESIDE(S) and Margaret (CULP) WHITESIDE(S). He married 6 Jan 1818, Sarah YOUNG (Whiteside family notes by Esta (Garrett) Robb, great-granddaughter of Samuel & Sarah (YOUNG) WHITESIDE).
