Funeral services for Arthur L. Peterson were held Friday, July 30, 1976 at 2:00 pm at the First Lutheran Church in Philip SD with Rev. A.E. Loken officiating. Burial was in the Nowlin Cemetery under the direction of Woodall Funeral Home.

Music was furnished by organist, Robert Sheeley and soloists, Jessica Dale, Dawn Strommen, Lennard Blucher and Rev. Timothy Strommen.

Pallbearers were Carl Hovland, Severt Hovland, Reuben Hovland, Severt Dale, Wayne Sasse, and Merle Jarman.

Arthur was born August 26, 1904 to Mr and Mrs Lewis (Anna Nelson) Peterson at Rushmore MN and died Tuesday, July 27, 1976 at Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital.

He came to Nowlin SD with his parents in 1908 and attended school in the Nowlin area. On October 15, 1939, he married Emma Haberly at Nowlin.

Following their marriage, he continued to farm and ranch in that area. They moved to Philip in 1954 where he worked for the Philip school system for ten years.

Survivors are his wife, Emma of Philip SD; one brother, Raymond Peterson of Midland SD, and several nieces and nephews.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Gloria in infancy; one brother, Nicholias.
