She was the daughter of James Sidney Lynch and Arie Crews Quinn.
She was married to Oscar Ellis, Sr. on December 17th, 1876 in DeKalb Co., MO. Nancy and Oscar raised two boys:
Oscar Thomas Ellis, Jr. and Lycurgus "Curg" Ellis.
These two sons were adopted. They were actually her nephews on her husband's side. Oscar and Lycurgus Ellis were the sons of Marion Ellis, whose wife died when the children were quite young. It is assumed that they were sent to live with their aunt and uncle, Nancy and Oscar, to be raised.
