Turner Morehead was married first to Ann Ransdell, June 7, 1779. His second wife was Mary Ann Hewitt Hooe. Turner Morehead was made a Captain of Militia for Fauquier County, Virginia, March 24, 1778, and he served in the Revolutionary War. Though he died in Barren County Kentucky we believe he is buried with his second wife, Mary Ann Hewitt Hooe, in the Gunn family plot along with their daughter Caroline M. Morehead Gunn.

Although most of the headstones are no longer in existence, plot records indicate a "T. Morehead" was buried in the Gunn Section. The Nashville City Cemetery Lot cards are currently being prepared for a database at the Nashville Public Library, and this possibly will give more information on the Gunn lot. (07/17/2011)

Updated 11/3/2012 - The Gunn Lot Card includes the name of Capt. Turner Morehead which would indicate that his body was removed from Kentucky and buried with his second wife Mary Ann Hewitt Hooe. The card is copyright protected but can be viewed at the Nashville Public Library website.
