Fay Higdon, 79, of Albany, GA, died Friday, July 15, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM at First Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Billy D. Hanna and Rev. John W. Knighton will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Phenix City, AL Mrs. Higdon had lived in Albany since 1955 moving from Phenix City, AL. She was a retired Construction Clerk with Bell South, a member of Telephone Pioneers Club, C.W.A. Retiree Club, NARFE, EX Prisoner Of War Club and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church where she was a member of K & K Sunday School Class. Mrs. Higdon was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lee Higdon and her parents, Hiram Leroy Knighton and Mary Elizabeth Hearn Knighton.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Higdon of Lawrenceville, GA, a grandson, Nathan Kodilla of Auburn Hills, MI, two brothers, John Knighton of Phenix City, AL and Thomas Knighton of Albany, GA.
