Mr. Gandy passed away at the home of his grand-daughter, Mrs H.R. Stewart, five miles south of Hereford on September 19, after an illness of two years.
Mr. Gandy was born March 6, 1872 in Maridan, and was married to Cora E. Barker in Glen Rose, Texas, in 1893. She preceded him in death in 1939. They came to Deaf Smith County in 1934 from Hale County and he was a retired farmer, and member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by four sons, G.S. Gandy, Wheeler; H.H. "Bud" Gandy and C.R. Gandy of Hereford; and J.G. Gandy of Cauplin, N.M. Also two surviving daughters, Mrs. J.R. Oglesby of Dumas and Mrs. C.T. Caraway of Tulia, 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Interment was in the Tulia Cemetery with the Glilland Funeral Home in charge.
Supt. Earl Brown and Burley Mann attended the funeral of George Gandy's father at Hereford Sunday.
