He married to Elizabeth (Cordell) October 3, 1888 in St. Louis. They were the parents of Ralph Tennet Kalb who married Mabel (Pugh); and Richard Merlin Kalb who married Carol Ruth Stone.
He was widowed in 1909, and in 1911, he married Clara Veach. They were the parents of James T. Kalb.
