Queen Esther Jordan Curry Taylor was the daughter of Isaiah and Mary Jane Jordan. She was born in Williamsburg County and lives with her parents iand siblings Lavinia, Henrietta, Martha, Victoria, Manley, and King in Lee, Williamsburg County, SC in 1870. In 1880 she still lived in Lees with her parents, Victoria, Manley, King, Lillie and Doxy. She married William Henry Curry in 1889, but they had no children. In 1900 she and WIlliam are living in Township 4, Black River, Georgetown County with his mother. In 1910, they are raising an adopted son and an adopted daughter, John and Lillie Burroughs, ages 8 and 5. They live near her sister Louvenia Parrott, who is raising 14-year-old Benjamin Burroughs. Her husband, W.H. Curry, died in May 1917 and by 1920 she has remarried. Her new husband is Levi Jefferson Taylor, a widower. They live in Andrews, Georgetown County, SC with Lillie, who is 15 and listed as a boarder. They are still adjacent to Lavinia and her husband. Levi died in 1927 and was buried in Sparrpw Swamp Cemetery in Timmons. In the 1930 census, she is listed as Queenster Taylors, widowed. She lives near the Parrotts in Andrews.
