Joseph Reuben Pendrey was born Nov 28, 1890 in Paris, Idaho.
He was the 5th of 7 children born to Orson Pendrey and Maria Butler Pendrey as follows:

His father was a Druggist and a General Merchant operating his own businesses in Paris and Montpelier, Idaho. Joseph along with his siblings worked in the family stores. He learned meat cutting and merchandising while young and gained a foundation in communication which led to his later sales occupation.

Joseph served a two year mission to the British Islands for the LDS Church applying for his passport on May 27, 1912. He returned July 25, 1914 from England on the passenger ship Baltic.

Soon Joseph married Zina Zundell Beecher Aug 26, 1914 in Salt Lake, City. They had one son named Joseph Beecher Pendrey born 1915 Paris, Idaho.

He worked as a Liveryman and in Sales. He registered for the draft for WWI in 1917. He worked for the Central Pacific Railroad as a boiler maker in November 1917 in Ogden, Utah. They lived in Paris until after 1920. Joseph then became an Insurance Salesman and eventually the District Manager of the Insurance Company living in Idaho Falls, Idaho until well after 1930.

He was later divorced.

Joseph later worked in Utah. He also was a Meat Butcher working for various stores in Idaho, California and Utah.

He married Katherine Jensen Pedersen Rogers on Sep 27, 1944 in Evanston, Wyoming. They lived in Park City, Utah then later moved to Salt Lake.

After retiring he worked for the Deseret Industries in Utah

They lived in their home ar 431 E 21st South In Salt Lake City, Utah. Then later they lived in a downtown apartment .

Joseph took ill with Cancer and was hospitalized in the Salt Lake County Hospital where he passed from this life on January 2, 1962.

His funeral was held in Colonial Mortuary on 2128 South State Street in Salt Lake, City. Burial was in Paris Cemetery, Paris, Idaho

Joseph Reuben Pendrey was a tall man and possessed many genteel values. He was very exact, yet soft spoken and a pleasurable human.
He was buried in a pine box per his wishes.
