ALFRED LAVERT "Al" Hale of Houston, passed away September 1, 1989. He was a graduate of Shamrock High School in Wheeler, Texas, where he was active in football, basketball and boxing. He attended West Texas State University in Canyon and graduated from Southern Methodist University. Serving in the US Army during World War II, he saw duty in the South Pacific Theatre.

Al is survived by his daughter, Alison Claire Hale and former wife, Claire Snowden Hale, both of Houston; sister, Louise Ast of Amarillo; sisters and brothers-in-law, Arcena and Ralph Daly of Amarillo, Anita and Calvin Corrie of Shreveport, LA; brothers and sisters-in-law, R. C. and Elizabeth Hale of Enchanted Oaks, Texas, James and Stacy Hale of Austin; his nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.

Funeral service Tuesday, September 5, 1989 at Settegast-Kopf Funeral Home Chapel. Interment Memorial Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of usual remembrances, the family requested contributions to the American Heart Association, Houston Chapter, P.O. Box 20448, Houston, Texas, 77225. Settegast-Kopf, 3320 Kirby Drive.
