Frank A Matthews a well-known citizen of Greensboro died of paralysis tonight aged 70 years. He is survived by a son and a daughter W.H Matthews and Mrs George W. Pritchett of this city. He was a gallant Confederate soldier having been a member of the Twenty-sixth North Carolina Regiment. He was engaged in many fierce battles and was severely wounded at Malvern Hill.
