AUGHTMAN RITES HELD AT BETHANY
Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Estelle Aughtman, 75, a life-long resident of RFD 2, were held Saturday from the Bethany Baptist Church in Heath. Aughtman died in an Andalusia hospital on Thursday following a short illness. She was a member of a pioneer family of the Gantt-Heath area.
Officiating at the last rites were Rev. D.E. Parsons, pastor of the Bethany Baptist Church, and Rev. Bernard Jones, pastor of the Gantt Baptist Church. Music was by Rev. Jones with Mrs. Pat Aplin as the pianist. Burial was in Bethany cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing arrangements.
Survivors are four sons, Autrey Aughtman, Andalusia; Ralph Aughtman, Odie Aughtman, and Rufus Aughtman, all of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; three daughters, Mrs. Hattie Jordan, Andalusia; Mrs. Mabel Lunsford and Mrs. Nobie Clark, both of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; a sister, Mrs. Texana Pou, Dozier; 16 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Clyde Barton, Cliff Pou, Talbert Jordan, Bobby Jordan, Danny Aughtman, and Ewell Harris.
