Emmanuel Taylor Burkhart, Jr. was born on June 19th, 1929 at his family's farm near Knoxville, Knox Co., Tennessee. He was the fourth of six children born to Emmanuel Taylor Burkhart (1875-1938) and his 2nd wife, Lula Frances Haun (1903-1991). To my knowledge, he never married. He was just nine months of age when the 1930 Census was taken on Apr 9, 1930. His father was Deputy Sheriff at the time. His older half sisters, Etta, 22, and Pauline, 20, and his half brother, Lafe, 16, lived in the home with his two sisters, Mollie Jane, age 4 yrs.,2 months, and Stella May, age 2 years and 3 months. When the next census was taken on May 13, 1940, his mother was a widow and just his elder sisters, Mollie, now 13, and Stella May, now 11, were in the home, along with his younger brother, Jack, who was 7 years of age. Emmanuel Jr. died in May, 1958 and was laid to rest near his other family members at Asbury Cemetery, Knoxville, Knox Co., Tennessee. May they all Rest, at Peace, in Paradise.
