She was a strong Christian who read the bible all the way through, many times in her life. She was known for never speaking ill of others, and lived by the adage, "if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all." These memories were shared by her daughter-in-law Mary Florence Lacy, who was married to her son John, but Asenath was loved by everyone in the family.
