Patience married Marshall Oliver Florence on September 20, 1858 in Wood Co., Virginia.
Their children were John, Elizabeth, Sarah, William, George, Abednego, Eliza, Isaac, Mary, Edward, David, and Osias Florence.

Patience was the daughter of William Henry Boice and Catherine Frum.


IN MEMORIAM Patience A. Florence, daughter of William and Catherine Boice was born March 25, 1841 at Morgontown, West Virginia, Monongahela County and departed this life at her home north of Wabash, Ohio, December 16,1925 at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 21 days. At the early age of 8 years, she moved with her parents from Monongahela County to Wood County, West Virginia. She resided there until her marriage to W.O. Florence, September 20, 1858, and to this union was born 12 children, eight sons and four daughters, one son, Edward, dying in infancy. She was converted and united with the Methodist Protestant church at Lime Stone Hill, West Virginia at the age of 30 years. In the year of 1884, they moved to Mercer County, Ohio and remained there until her death. In the year of 1890, she transferred her membership to the Methodist Protestant church at the Scudder school house. Her companion preceded her in death, 16 years ago. She leaves to mourn their loss, William, at home, John, Murphysboro___, Orias, Parkersburg, West Virginia, George, near Wabash, Abendego, Argus, Indiana, Oliver, Thompson, Iowa, David, Ohio City, Mrs. John Huey, Geneva, Indiana., Mrs Wade Clegg, Pittsburgh, Pa. , Mrs. Frank Meyer, near Skeel, Ohio and Mary at home. Fifty-three grand children and 45 great grand-children. Three brothers, William at Lansing , Michigan, Bart, Geneva, Indiana and Andrew near Wabash, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at the Wabash Christian church, Sunday morning at ten o'clock by the Rev. Oren and the burial at the Wabash cemetery. We miss thee from our home, dear mother We miss thee from thy place A shadow o'er our life is cast, We miss the sunshine of thy face. We miss thy kind and willing hand, Thy fond and earnest care, Our home is dark without thee, We miss thee everywhere. Card of Thanks The children wish to thank the kind neighbors and friends for their kindness during the sickness and death of their beloved mother. Also the minister for his consoling works and the beautiful floral offerings
