Glen E. Gotham Services for Glen E. Gotham, 85, of Southington, will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Borowski Memorial Home, 30 Ridge Road, Newton Falls.
Mr. Gotham passed peacefully Sunday, May 20, 2007, at his residence.
On May 30, 1921, in Burton, Lyle E. and Mable A. White Gotham welcomed the birth of their son, Glen. He attended the Parkman School system, graduating from Parkman High School in 1940. Glen was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was honorable discharged on May 28, 1946.
While stationed in New York, N.Y., glen met his future bride, Barbara E. Knott, when she was on holiday to the city. Glen and Barbara were united in marriage on Oct. 27, 1945, at her family residence in Toronto, Canada. After Glen`s discharge, the family relocated to Warren, Ohio.
Mr. Gotham was employed as a blacksmith by Republic Steel Corporation for 21 years. His employment continued at the General American Tank Car Corporation in Masury, Ohio.
Glen expressed his faith at the Warren First Church of the Nazarene in Warren. He was a Past Master of the Western Phoenix Lodge 42 Free and Accepted Masons in Parkman, of which he was a member for more than 53 years. Glen enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours cutting firewood and gardening.
Memories of Glen will be carried on by his loving wife, Barbara; beloved children, Gene E. and Cyndi Gotham, Byron V. and Dannelly Gotham, Randall T. and Isabella Gotham, Linda and Edward Karr, Diane Dean, Judy and Donald Wolfe, Brenda and Larry Barlow, Rita Cordwell and Geraldine Love; his adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters, Anona Brewster, Alma Kolm and Lillian McDivitt. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kenneth E. Gotham; and brothers, John, Neal, Leland and Carlisle Gotham.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the funeral home. Pastor Lynn Nichols will officiate at the services. The Newton Falls Veterans Organization will honor Glen with a Military Service.
The family suggests that memorial tributes may be made in memory of Glen, to the Warren First Church of the Nazarene Memorial Fund, 4179 Parkman Road N.W., Warren, OH 44481.
