William Neal Franklin, age 99, of Atmore, AL passed away on December 2, 2020. He was born on May 17, 1921 in Loango, AL to the late Millard and Annie Taylor Franklin. He was a member of Brooks Memorial Baptist Church. He served in The United States Army during World War II and was a member of Atmore Carney Lodge #549.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Genise Watford Franklin; his son, James Willis Franklin and his siblings, Carl Franklin and Jewel Rodgers.

He is survived by his sons, Mike Franklin of Atmore, AL and Lavon (Bonnie) Franklin of Fort Payne, AL; his brother, Gene (Ruth Ann) Franklin of Center, AL; his sisters, Mildred Hart of Birmingham, AL and Melba Crews of Columbus, Ga; his grandchildren, Ronald, Sherry, Kristopher, Blair and Jay Michael; nine great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, AL with Dr. Tim Tew officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Gideons International.

For the safety of you and others, the family request a facial mask be worn and to practice social distancing requirements.
