Yuta was the last surviving member of the Port Clinton High School Class of 1930. She ironed uniforms during World War II for the military and was a bus driver and cook for Port Clinton High School for over 20 years. She was the executive director of the Ottawa County American Cancer Society for five years, a housekeeper for the Matthews Boat Company in Port Clinton, a product demonstrator for the Kroger Store, and did wallpapering for many of the local homes and businesses in the surrounding area.
Yuta was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the Ottawa County Historical Society and the Bay Township Farm Wives. She loved researching genealogy, tracing family history, doing needlepoint, crocheting, clay work and pottery. Yuta was an honorary 4-H Member and loved to play the organ for friends and family. She was one of the first families in the Black Swamp area.
The land from Willowend Road to Muddy Creek was given to the Druyor family by President Andrew Jackson for services rendered by George Drouillard, who was the lead scout for the Lewis and Clark Expedition from 1803 to 1805.
Survives include sons, Lynn H. Jones of Port Clinton, and Lyle (Cheryl) Jones of Dover, Delaware; daughter, Laura (Walter) Geiser of Toledo; son-in-law, Thad Geiser of Fostoria; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Twyla Druyor and Juanita Limbert, both of Toledo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Linda Geiser, daughter-in-law, Jane Jones, grandson, Scott Allen Jones and brothers, Wayne, Leo, Ward and Wendell Druyor
Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church, Port Clinton. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, with Rev. Run Huff presiding. Burial: Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
