She was born April 16, 1920, in Daybrook, a daughter of the late Charles R. and Alcinda Tennant.
She was the former owner of Yost Cafe in Alvin, Texas. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge in Santa Fe, Texas.
She is survived by two sons, Buddy Ammons of Rt. 1 Core and Leon Yost of Santa Fe, Texas; one daughter, Reta Erdos of New Athens, Ohio; two brothers, Harold Tennant and Robert B. Tennant, both of Daybrook; two sisters, Joan Tennant of Sapupla, Okla. and Jackie Staten of New Athens, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hess H. Yost, on Nov. 26, 1980; two sons, Donnie Ammons and Sonny Ammons; and five sisters.
Burial was at the Williams Cemetery, Daybrook.
