John H Adams was born 26 July 1855 in Pennsylvania.He was the fourth child and second son born to William and Mary Annette (Huffman) Adams. He married Mary Ellen Weston in abt 1878 and they were the parents of five Children:
Sarah Armeda Adams( married John Clyde Hoffman) Charles Burras Adams (Married Margaret Lulu Beach),Jacob Walter Adams ( Married Sarah Agusta Beals Karns) Annetta "Nettie" Pearl Adams (married Calvin Richard Matthews),and Clara Blanch Adams (married Gilbert Leroy Wible).
The 1860 and 1870 Federal Census for Irwin Twp., Venango show John living with his parents, William and Mary (Huffman) Adams. His father is a farmer and his mother keeps house. Neighboring families are the Westons and Woodlings in 1860. In 1870 the family has moved and are near Wesley, neighboring families are Samuel and Salena(Weston)Sopher and the Henderson Families. In about 1878 John married Mary E Weston, "the girl next door". On the 1880 Federal Census for Irwin Twp., John and Mary Adams are seen married with one child, Sarah.By 1900 the family has added four additional children, Charlie 18, Jacob 16, Nettie 14 and Blanche 12. Sarah has married and and not living with the family.
