Heart Trouble Ends Life of E. Jaggers.

E.M. Jaggers, 76, died Thursday morning, March 19, in his home, 512 Merchant street, after an illness of four days with heart trouble. Mr. and Mrs. Jaggers attended church Sunday morning at the Methodist church and while in the church Mr. Jaggers complained of a pain in his arm. Mrs. Jaggers accompanied him home and called for the doctor. He soon seemed to get all right and Monday morning he got up as usual and tried to go to his work, but he was too weak.

Wednesday he seemed to be in good health and at noon told his wife he was getting out to get a little fresh air. She didn't think of him again until she noticed that he had fallen at the back end of the lot. She ran out and with assistance of M.D. Johnson carried him to the house and telephoned for the doctor. Mr. Jaggers continued to get worse and at 9:45 this morning passed away.

E.M. Jaggers was born May 11, 1838 in Howard county, Kentucky. When about 20 years of age he was married to Miss Mary Kessinger of Howard county, Kentucky, and to them were born two children, Mrs. Sussie Elizabeth Sturgeon of Paris, Texas and Miss Annie Jaggers, deceased.

On October 23, 1886, he was married to a young woman of the same name as his own, Miss Annie Jaggers, in Howard county, Kentucky.

Before coming to Kansas, Mr. Jaggers engaged in the milling business in Kentucky, and since coming here from Cubrun, Kentucky, ten years ago, he has been in the basket making business.

Mr. Jaggers was a staunch Christian man, having joined the church when ten years of age. His indomitable spirit for work kept him at work even when he was unable.

Mrs. Jaggers, who was prostrated by the news of his death, has the sympathy of many friends.
