Carmella C. (Carrabis) Barrasso, 89, of Melrose, died September 7, 2005, at the D'Youville Nursing Center in Lowell.

She was born and raised in Everett and had been a resident of Melrose for over 50 years.

Mrs. Barrasso was a homemaker and an avid Red Sox fan.

She was the wife of the late James V. Barrasso; mother of the late Carol Ann Murray; sister of James Carrabis and Anne Infurna, both of Melrose, Joseph Carrabis of Manchester N.H., Florence Gagliardi of Fitchburg, John Carrabis of Saugus, Alfred Carrabis of Lowell and the late Lillian Riley, Mary DeLeo, and Anthony and Eleanor Carrabis.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral was held September 12 from the Gately Funeral Home of Melrose, followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Wakefield. Burial was in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
