Mark Aubrey Aaron was born in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, the fourth of eight children born to George Thomas Aaron, a saloon keeper, and Mary Catherine (Burgoon) Aaron, a housewife.

Sometime after his 12th birthday, his family moved from Pennsylvania to Kansas. At the age 17, his mother passed away in Kansas City.

Mark moved to Gallup, New Mexico, where he worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He later moved to Cochise County, Arizona where he was employed at Shattuck Mining in Bisbee. He married Hattie Middelin and they made their home in Douglas. On May 27, 1925, Hattie died of cancer in a Phoenix hospital. Her remains were returned to her family home in San Antonio, Texas for burial.

Mark died in 1936 in Douglas. He was buried at the Calvary Cemetery.
