NEWTON - Mr. J.W. Allen 70, Catawba County Schools retiree, died Sept. 17, 1994, at Catawba Memorial Hospital in Hickory. Funeral is 4 p.m. Tuesday at Drum Funeral Home, Conover. Visitation is 7 to 8:30 tonight.
Survivors are his wife, Opha; son, Mike Allen; daughter, Mrs. Tammy Nelson; brothers, Everett Allen of Indiana, Arnold Allen Jr. of Claremont; sisters, Mrs. Mildred Loftin of Catawba, Mrs. Lucille Drum, Mrs. Willa Caldwell.
