PENNINGTON GAP, Va. - Thelma Seals, 92, of Pennington Gap, Va. was born in Lee County, Va. on Sunday, June 21, 1914 and passed away Monday (March 5, 2007) at the Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, Va.
She had been a resident of Lee County her entire life. Thelma was a homemaker, retired seamstress, a member of the American Legion Auxillary, Ladies Auxillary V.F.W., Rebecca Lodge, Eastern Star and Daughters of the Confederacy
Thelma was also a member of the Corinth Baptist Church in Ben Hur, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Seals; two sons, Charles Ray 73229346 and Billy Carr Seals; parents, Charles A. and Rosa Lee Poteet Bryant; and one sister, Ruby Holbrook.
Thelma is survived by three sons, James Bearl Seals of Bosque Farms, N.M., Jimmie Seals 99960136 of Bossier City, La., and Paul Seals of Los Lunas, N.M.; two daughters, Sue Price of Cumberland, Va. and Shirley Bement of Spring Creek, Nev.; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd Bryant of Kingsport; four sisters, Louise Brooks of Kettering, Ohio, Virginia Burke of Jonesville, Va., Margie Beech of Pennington Gap, Va., and Lorene Smullin of Salisbury, Md.; several nieces, nephews and special friends, Darlene and Jerry Napier, Stella and Frank Davis, Betty Woliver and Lorene Branham.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Province Funeral Home, Pennington Gap, Va.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home sanctuary with the Rev. Raymond Baird officiaiting.
Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Va.
