Mr. Dalling was born in Logan, Utah, October 2, 882, the son of John Loader Dalling and Sarah Eleanor Ricks Dalling. When he was only nine months old, the family moved to Rexburg. His family was one of the early pioneer families to settle in this territory.
He attended the local schools in Rexburg. He worked for 2 years as a telegrapher for the railroad. While serving on an LDS mission in the western states, he became acquainted with Anna Appleby Wardell whom he later married in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City, October 8, 1908.
Following their marriage, the couple were engaged in farming at Sugar City until 1939 at which time they retired and moved to Idaho Falls.
He was an active member of the LDS Church - particularly in the priesthood organizations and genealogical organizations.
He was employed for several years as a worker in the LDS hospital in Idaho Falls and was a stake missionary and a temple officiator.
He and Mrs. Dalling served as missionaries to England recently.
He is survived, in addition to his widow, by the following children: Mrs. Afton Hinckley, Vearl Dalling, Dell Dalling, and Mrs. Gwen Carlson, all of Idaho Falls, Keith Dalling and LeGrande Dallingk, both of Washington, and Mrs. Melrie Fife, Salmon; by the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Emma Harrison, Mrs. Reah Pencock, Ray Dalling, William Dalling, all of Sugar City, Mrs. Ella Hegg, Utah, Mrs. Loa Pencock, Rexburg, and Marshall Dalling, Idaho Falls, and by 38 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
