In Memory of Ada Ramsey Coberly

Ada Ramsey Coberly was born February 13, 1920 at Holly, Colorado, to Robert Frank and Ada (Ramsey) Bailey. She passed away August 28, 1998, in the Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 78 years, 6 months, 15 days.

At 5 days of age, following her mother's death, Ada moved to Springfield, MO, to live with her grandparents. By the time Ada was 12 she had also lost her father and grandparents. She then moved to western Kansas to live with her sister and aunt. She later returned to Missouri where she graduated from Rogersville High School with the Class of 1938, and later attended a business school in Springfield.

In 1940 she moved to Gove County, Kansas. On June, 17, 1941, Ada was united in marriage with Glenn W. Coberly at the home of her aunt in Gove County. He survives of the home.

Ada was very much a part of the political scene, promoting candidates who supported principals in which she believed. Her family was also a very important part of her life. She always was interested in and followed her children's activities and all her grandchildren's school functions. She often displayed her homemaking abilities in preparing large meals for her family and friends. She was a very giving person, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. In her younger years she spent many pleasurable hours working in her flower and vegetable gardens.

Other survivors include two sons, Robert and special friend, Katherine Bridges, and James and wife, Gwen, all of Gove; two daughters, Dr. Christine Matson and husband, David, of Suffolk, VA, and Constance Bibus and husband, Doug, of Bryan, TX; a sister, Helen Hall and husband, Jake, of Hays, Andrea Coberly of Colby, Bailey Coberly of Hays, Staci, Callie, and Jacee Coberly, all of Gove, and Nicole and Erin Matson of Suffolk, VA.

Ada was a lifelong witness to her faith in Jesus Christ and His saving grace. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for many years to come.
