from Cass City Chronicle 27 Dec 1940: ...passed away on Thurs Dec 19 at his home in Pontiac. Funeral services were held from St Michael's church in that city Saturday & interment in the parish cemetery. Born March 10 1851 in Constableville NY, came to MI in 1875..in 1879 he marr Mary Hoagland & settled in Deanville for 10 yrs before coming to Elmwood Twp on a farm. Moved to Cass City in 1908 & to Rockford IL in 1915. Mrs Martus died in Rockford in 1926. In 1931 Mr Martus married Mrs Adaline Mogg. They lived in Rockford for 2 yrs before moving to Pontiac...
