Elizabeth Starnes was born sometime in the 1770s, and I believe she was a daughter of Joseph Starnes (c.1730-1779) and his wife Katherine (d. after 1800). She married Johan Philip Wolf, Jr. (1769-1806) in the summer of 1794 (Bond date 17 July 1794; Joseph Starns, bondsman; Shared Gray, witness.) I know that Elizabeth and Philip had at least five children, mentioned in a deed in 1825: Catherine (Mrs. James Russell), John, Jacob, Joseph & Elizabeth. I am still researching this family.

Elizabeth last appears on the 1850 census of Union County (Union was formed from parts of Mecklenburg & Anson in 1842.) Her age was given as eighty, but I don't believe she was quite that old. I assume since her husband is buried here, she would have been, as well, though she'd been a widow around fifty years or so.
