Ira Alkire, who lived at 2385 SW Roxbury St., died Saturday of a heart attack in a local hospital.
Mr. Alkire, who was 58, was born in Arlington and lived in the Portland area for 36 years. He worked as a technical manual writer for Pacific Northwest Bell for 14 years before going to Tektronix as a technical writer.
Private funeral will be Tuesday. The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Oregon Heart Association.
He is survived by his wife, Adelina; mother, Georgia Alkire, and sisters, Helen Tuggle, Frances Winkelman and Mildred Atkinson, all of Portland, and Bonnie Rogers, Hermiston.
