Mrs. Sarepta Rachel Riley, 85 died last Thursday, March 20, at her home in Pleasant Valley, following a long illness.
A daughter of the late Alexander and Hulda Harvey Lower, she was born February 12, 1867, in this county. Surviving are two sons, A. Otis Riley and D. Milton Riley, both of near Oakland, a daughter, Mrs. Nellie G. Bowers, Alexandria, Va., a brother, David M. Lower, Arcata, CA, 14 grandchildren and (?) great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Methodist church, where funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday by Rev. Don Jackson, pastor. Burial was in the church cemetery.
