Lawrence E. Jones

Lawrence E. Jones, 77, a resident of Ellamore, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. He had been in failing health but death was sudden and unexpected.

Born Nov. 28, 1926 at Pickens, he was the son of the late Thomas B. and Floyts Lena Andrews Jones.

He is survived by one sister, Lillian Kowalcyk of Houtzdale, Pa.; two sisters-in-law; LuLu Belle Jones of Pickens and Shirley Gower of Ellamore; two nieces; and six nephews.

Also surviving are close friends, Jesse Jr., Michelle and Jesse III Williams.

He was a wonderful brother, uncle and friend, and he will be sadly missed in our hearts forever.

He was a veteran having served in World War II with the U.S. Army.

He retired from Continental Can Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio, as foreman with 32 years of service.

Preceding him in death besides his parents where three brothers, infant Richard Dale, Thomas and Herbert Jones.

At the request of the deceased the remains will be cremated. Interment will follow in the Pickens Cemetery at Pickens at a later date. The F.E. Runner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Lawrence E. Jones.
