John Harley Guilkey, 78, of 2762 Maple St., Longview, died Aug. 15, 1978 in a Longview hospital. He was born Oct. 3, 1899, in Oklahoma, was a retired watchman for International Paper Co. and a resident of the Longview-Kelso area since 1926, coming from Kansas. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War I, a member of Rainier Masonic Lodge No. 24 A.F. & A.M., World War I Barracks No. 129, Senior Citizens of Longview and IAW Local No. 3-536.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel at home; two daughters, Beverly Earlene Chase of Portland, Betty Jean Kelley of Rainier; one brother, Frank E. Guilkey of Longview; four grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren.
