The totally disabled World War II veteran was vice commander of the Eugene Bell Post of the American Legion in Baird and was a member of the Breckenridge VFW, the Disabled American Veterans of Galesburg, Illinois and the AMVETS.
He moved to Breckenridge as a child. He graduated from Breckenridge in 1935 and from the University of Texas in 1950.
Mr. Alexander married Elizabeth Read at Muncie, Illinois in 1952 and the couple moved to Breckenridge in 1952. They returned to Muncie in 1952 and moved to Baird in 1955.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survived by his wife; one son - Franklyn; his father - R.L. Alexander; one brother - Marshall; two children preceded him in death.
