Chico Enterprise-Record, April 26, 1965: Gale M. Killingsworth, life-long resident of the Nelson-Biggs area, died in the Chico Community Hospital Saturday afternoon, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Killingsworth was born in Nelson on June 3, 1916, to Albert and Pearl Killingsworth who were early pioneers of the area. Following his graduation from the Biggs High School, Killingsworth engaged in diversified farming near Nelson. In 1962 he built Gala Lanes, and since that time has operated that business in addition to his farming. He was a member of the Chico Lodge No. 423, BPO Elks and the Royal Order of Moose.

"Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lorene Killingsworth of Nelson; two children, Marvin of Nelson and Mrs. Sharon Gore, also of Nelson; and two grandchildren.

"Rev. Bruce Chapman, pastor of the Evangelical Free Church of Richvale, will officiate at funeral services to be conducted in the chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will take place in the Garden of Devotion at Glen Oaks Memorial Park."
