Margaret Elizabeth Herring, 81, of Harrisonburg, died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Avante at Harrisonburg.
Mrs. Herring was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Augusta County, and was a daughter of the late Edward and Nellie May Landes Brown.
She lived her entire life in the Harrisonburg-Rockingham County area and was owner and operator of Ed's Lunch in Harrisonburg. She was of the Presbyterian faith.
On July 3, 1946, she married Ernest Herring, who preceded her in death in 1969.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Royston of Timberville; a son, Ernest "Bo" Herring Jr. of North Carolina; a sister, Viola Armentrout of Florida; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pastor Bernie Fuska will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home or at the home of her daughter, 16196 Strooptown Road, Timberville, at any time.
