FUNERAL OF DR. SIX WAS HELD SUNDAY
The funeral of Dr. Six was held at the Lawrence town hall last Sunday afternoon, and was attended by a crowd of people which the hall was wholly inadequate to accommodate. The crowd was composed almost wholly of friends of the dead physician, and there was little evidence of the idle curious.
The funeral was under Masonic auspices, and 120 members of the Masonic fraternity were in the line of march.
The floral tokens were extensive and covered the casket and the front of the town hall stage in a mass of beautiful flowers. The aged mother of Dr. Six and his brother, Dr. Clarence Six, of Stockton, Calif., arrived Saturday evening and were present at the funeral. They are said to have declared that they will give every assistance in solving the mystery of the case or disproving the terrible rumors set afloat.

SHERIFF SOWLE REFUTES RUMOR OF UNFAIRNESS
Relative to the report in circulation that the sheriff's force had broken an agreement to give Dr. Six a hearing before the officers conducting the investigation, Sheriff Sowle yesterday issued the following statement from the deputy state fire marshal investigating the case, which had previously been filed in the office of the prosecuting attorney and also at Lansing:
"I was called by telephone Monday evening, March 10, by Dr. Six, and he asked me if I was the deputy state fire marshal who was investigating his fire. I told him that I was, and he asked me if he could have a hearing tomorrow (Tuesday), or whether he should come to Paw Paw. I said 'Certainly, we expect to come down and see you tomorrow.' He asked me how we were coming and I said, 'We have not decided whether we will come by train or drive.' He said, 'I thought if you was coming by train I would meet you.' He did not meet the train and I therefore did not see him. Deputy Sheriff Beattie phoned to his office at one o'clock, but received no responses. He intended to take his statement at that time, and a few minutes later we heard of the deed.
